Member in Good Standing Requirements
ANNUAL SERVICE HOUR REQUIREMENTS
(Assisteens® Calendar Year is May 1st – April 30th)
AUXILIARY/CHAPTER SERVICE HOURS: Minimum 50 hours - 7th - 12th grade
Monthly meetings, Assisteens® events
Operation School Bell Shift – 1 three hour shift Target OSB Event per year (sign up online)
Gift Shop Shift - min. 1 two hour shift per year (sign up online 7th, 8th , 9th and 10th grade with parent. 11th and 12th grade without parent)
PHILANTHROPIC PROGRAM SERVICE HOURS (posted/sign up online)
Programs organized and operated by Assisteens® and guided and chaperoned by parent volunteers
Some events are optional and members sign up throughout the year
Great opportunity to learn something new, work with peers and help your local community
ABOVE & BEYOND VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS - (posted/sign up online)
Approved volunteer activities for the benefit of the surrounding community
Events will be posted on Assisteens® Website and advertised to the membership
Only events that are posted on the website and are open to all Assisteens® will count towards community service
PERSONAL VOLUNTEER SERVICE HOURS
Volunteer where you are NOT double dipping credit (I.E. Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, etc.)
You MUST submit completed and signed volunteer log by Authorized Site Coordinator (including contact phone number
and email address) each month. However, hours will not be accepted past dues dates noted below.
DUE DATES
May – August hours DUE NO LATER THAN September 15
September – November DUE NO LATER THAN December 15
December – February DUE NO LATER THAN March 15
March DUE NO LATER THAN April 15
ANGEL AWARD REQUIREMENTS
Earn 150 hours or more by April 15th with all hours submitted ON TIME (see schedule above)
Minimum hours requirement must be met in ALL categories
Service hours from all categories apply
May NOT miss more than 4 Assisteens® meetings & mandatory events combined
May not have outstanding financial obligation!
PRESIDENTS VOLUNTEER SERVICE AWARD
The Assisteens® Auxiliary is a certifying organization for the Presidential Volunteer Service Award. As a benefit of
Assisteens® membership, the organization applies annually for the award on behalf of the members that qualify.
The following Assisteens® events are considered service hours for the Presidential Volunteer Service Award:
General Meetings
Governing Body Meetings
Nomination Committee Meetings
Installation Luncheon
Assisteens® National Conference
Pediatric Therapy Network Halloween Event
Get Acquainted Social
Community Service Hours
Gift Shop Shift
Operation School Bell Shift
Assisteens® Philanthropic Programs
No Sew Fleece Blankets and Knitted/Crocheted Baby Blankets
(1 fleece = 5 hours/25 max and/or 1 crocheted = 15 hours/30 hours max; Max blanket hours is 30 hours)
* Social Events (Recognition Event) & Operations School Bell Kits and Candy Sales - do NOT count towards PVSA.
